Book Review 4: ELEVEN RINGS by Phil Jackson

Phil Jackson takes us on a tour through his championship years in Chicago and Los Angeles. He shows us how his teams became true teams, how the players conducted themselves, and most importantly his leadership philosophy and actions throughout the ride.

Soul stirring leadership requires letting go. Leaders who lead from within allow the breeze to put the boat in motion. Although they may employ force at times, as a rule, they direct, guide, and cajole.

This helps teachers who feel they must press at all times to move there teaching life and instruction forward. Letting go serves as great a role in the development of a teacher and a learning community as striving to make things happen.

What insights can you share about your leadership development?
